The concert we went to was really cool.
A talented guy called Bob Zimmerman (no, a different one), arranged lots of chansons for a singer and an orchestra. The singer was a bit cocky, but nonetheless a good singer with quite a pleasant capacity for expression. The orchestra was powerful and impressive, and the conductor seemed to have a splendid time, all wrapped up in the music. The hall was the Philharmonie of Haarlem, a beautiful concert hall just walking distance from Bart & Pascale’s house. And there was even the Israeli connection: “Après le Froid“, a rearranged and translated version for the song “After the Cold” of Yossi Banai :) .
All in all, we had a great time!

The two following days and nights were devoted to Monique and Ramesh, our splendidly insane inter-cultural friends. Pauli & Nic. (this is not a typo, he writes his name with a dot) dropped us off at their house in Amsterdam, and within an instant we were in gameland. You see, they love games. As do we. Finally! MUHAHAHA!

X-Mess

Ok,
Let’s try to make a short summary of the last few days.

23rd:
We had Ramesh & Monique over, that was lovely. We played some games and talked about being jobless (happyyy!) and carless (not so happyyy!). Oh, and about quitting smoking. Hmm..

24th (Christmas eve):
We played Scrabble (Pauli won), and then when the clock sounded 12 ding-dongs we exchanged a small amount of kisses and a BIG amount of presents. Always good. And most importantly – we ate some ragout. Let me tell ya, you really wanna try that here.
Dinner and proper celebrations were postponed by one day.
