Flying to New Zealand
by Tsemer on Feb.19, 2010, under China, Intercontinental, New Zealand
After a last lingering day in Beijing, in which we bought everything we thought would be cheaper there than New Zealand (other than sunscreen, which the Chinese don’t seem to have), it was time for us to say goodbye to the largest of continents. It was a short but exciting ride to Beijing Capital International Airport. We were starting to feel the itch, and the itch was called New Zealand.
Ni Hao China!

We’ve made it! Woohoo! We are actually in China.
It took some time – about 11 hours up in the sky – but here we are.
Yesterday (or is it already 2 days ago – it’s hard to keep track), we flew to Heathrow, London. All went smooth and wonderful up until we reached the Yotel – the hotel where we booked the night. “Hello”, the girl at the desk said. “We are sorry to inform you that the hotel has been closed due since Tuesday due to maintenance.” Awkward silence. After a bit more awkward silence she continued.. “but.. we managed to book you into the Hilton instead”. Hurray! We love her again!

Well…the moment finally arrived..
We’re packed and ready to go (okay, not completely true – Ohad is still in the shower) and soon we’ll eat some and we’ll be on our way to the airport.
Tonight we’ll sleep in the Yotel in terminal 4 on Heatrow and tomorrow we’ll be actually on our way to China! Can’t really believe it yet, guess our feet will have to touch ground to make it real..
Thanks to all you sweet people in Holland – we had an amazing time!!!
Talk (hopefully) soon!
kisses,
C.
